The PDA Center: Professional Development in Autism This center provides training and support for school districts, families and communities to ensure students with ASD have access to high quality, evidence-based educational services in their local school districts. A great site for administrators and program developers working to improve programs and offer staff development.
Autism: Interventions and Strategies for Success: This site features six helpful articles authorized by an autism consultant regarding teaches strategies for children with ASD.
National Academies Press: Educating Children with Autism This book, written by the National Research Council at the behest of the Department of Education, is a must-read for parents and educators. This site offers a full description of this publication, it's history, and credentials. You may also review and read an online version, download a printable version, or purchase an hardcover publication directly from NAP (also available at discounted prices at Amazon.com and other sites).
Help Us Learn: This site contains information about a self-paced program to train parents, educators and therapists in the use of Applied Behavior Analysis for children with ASD & other developmental disorders.
Council for Exceptional Children: (CEC) A site for teachers, administrators, students, parents, paraprofessionals and related support service providers. The site is dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. Contains good information on IDEA.
National Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center: A site dedicated to offering in-depth information regarding ASD. Contains helpful information about treatments and education of individuals with ASD.
The New England Center for Children: (NECC), a school for autism. The NECC is internationally recognized for its scientific approach based on the principals of ABA therapy. A helpful and informative site for teachers, parents, or anyone implementing or considering ABA therapy.
Play Steps Building Skills for Special Children: This site showcases books that teach constructive play step-by- step. They are recommended for children 3-8 yrs old and target those with special needs who may need a more structured approach to learning important play skills.
Special Education News: This site is structured like an online newsletter. While it is not devoted strictly to autism spectrum disorders, it does report on many issues dealt with in the special education system, including ASD. O.A.S.I.S. Asperger Syndrome Information: Specially Designed Instructions for Educators: IEP Modification/Adaptations/Support Checklist. Although specifically designed for educators, parents may find this page informative as well.
TEACCH (The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill): "Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication-handicapped Children." This site is "everything" TEACCH.
Autism Information: An informational website listing all of the major autism organizations and what they offer. This site has received awards for reliability and ease of use and is included on the list of the top 75,000 websites overall.
Attainment Company, Inc: Comprehensive academic curriculum for students with cognitive disabilities, grades 7-adult as well as co-teaching curriculum for students K-5 with autism. Also, offers catalogs containing many different and useful teaching products.
Discovery School: This site is filled with links to education resources for teachers of general and special ed. A highlighted section of this site is Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators.
Exploring Autism: A look at the genetics of autism in the news and the history of autism. Includes family stories. This site is a collaboration of researchers and clinicians working with families affected by autism.

The NIH supports two major research networks dedicated to understanding and treating autism: The Collaborative Programs of Excellence in Autism (CPEA) Network and the Studies to Advance Autism Research and Treatment (STAART) Network. Maternal and Child Health Library Georgetown University New knowledge path that includes resources on autism spectrum disorders ID and intervention, biomedical research into causes, challenges associated with the disorder and its impact on family life.
